Tensions Rise During Illinois Town’s Community Meeting

Just when you thought Democratic politics in Illinois couldn’t get any more corrupt—or downright embarrassing—here comes Dolton Mayor Tiffany Henyard, throwing hands at a town hall meeting. Yes, you read that right. A sitting mayor—already under investigation for rampant financial abuse—didn’t just stand by while a brawl broke out in her own meeting. She jumped in.

It all went down Tuesday when a local activist decided to air his grievances, calling Henyard a “half-a**ed mayor” and accusing her of “sleeping her way to the top.” And just to make sure his message really landed, he finished with “You gone, b**h.”*

That’s when the gloves (and apparently the wigs) came off.

Enter Henyard’s boyfriend, Kamal Woods, who wasn’t about to let this insult slide. He stormed toward the activist, fists started flying, and all hell broke loose. And instead of calling for order, Mayor Henyard herself decided to join in.

Footage of the chaos quickly hit social media, where it was clear that she lost her wig in the melee. (Apparently, so did any last shred of dignity left in Dolton’s leadership.) She can be seen flying into the fight, identified by her signature orange hair. Some reports even suggest she hit her head on a table during the brawl, which, if true, might be the only real consequence she’s faced since taking office.

Oh, and to really round out this total circus? One of the men involved was seen flashing gang signs as security dragged him away. You cannot make this up.

But here’s the kicker: this isn’t even Henyard’s biggest scandal of the week. This debacle happened one day after former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot—yes, even Lori Lightfoot thinks Henyard is too corrupt—released a scathing report detailing massive financial abuses in Dolton’s government.

Fox News reports that Henyard’s administration can’t account for hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars. The city also mismanaged $3 million in payments, racked up $171,000 in travel expenses, and spent $218,000 on Amazon purchases.

And let’s talk about those “business development” trips to Las Vegas in 2022 and 2023. The city charged the taxpayers for these extravagant excursions, yet—shockingly—there is no evidence that Dolton gained any economic benefit from them. In other words, Henyard and her cronies treated Vegas like their personal playground, all on the public dime.

And while Dolton spirals into chaos, guess who’s been getting paid handsomely by the mayor? That’s right—her boyfriend. Woods, the same guy who started swinging at Tuesday’s meeting, reportedly pulled a six-figure salary to run the township’s at-risk youth program. (Great role model, by the way.)

Tiffany Henyard isn’t just a corrupt politician—she’s an outright embarrassment. It’s one thing to funnel taxpayer money into your own pockets. It’s another to use city resources to punish businesses that don’t support you. But jumping into a brawl at a public meeting? That’s a whole new level of disgrace.
