Agents Make Arrests Outside Of Facility

President Donald Trump has drawn a line in the sand over Portland — and this time, he’s backing it up with boots on the ground.

On Saturday morning, Trump announced that he had formally authorized the deployment of troops to Portland, Oregon, citing ongoing violence against ICE facilities and law enforcement officers. The president placed the blame squarely on Antifa, calling the group “domestic terrorists” and condemning Democratic officials for refusing to restore order.

“I am directing Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, to provide all necessary Troops to protect war-ravaged Portland, and any of our ICE Facilities under siege from attack by Antifa, and other domestic terrorists,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. He emphasized that troops would be authorized to use “full force” if necessary.

Within hours, reports surfaced that Antifa groups were organizing a “direct action” against Portland’s ICE facility, with agitators converging Saturday night. By then, a federal presence was already visible, foreshadowing the president’s announcement. And when the chaos kicked off, demonstrators were met not just with ground-level enforcement but with federal air support monitoring the situation.

“The scene is mass chaos tonight outside the ICE facility,” Daviscourt of The Post Millennial reported from the ground. “Agitators appear to be furious about military deployment.”

The fury may only intensify. For years, Portland has been the epicenter of far-left unrest, with violent riots targeting federal buildings, police precincts, and now immigration facilities. Local Democratic leaders, from the mayor to the governor, have resisted federal intervention at every turn — even as the city has become synonymous with street violence.

But Trump’s Saturday announcement sends a clear message: the days of federal restraint are over. With Antifa openly planning escalations and federal troops now authorized to shut them down, Portland is bracing for a new phase in its long, turbulent standoff between radicals in the streets and Washington’s resolve to restore order.

And if Trump’s words are any indication, Portland won’t be the last city to face such a reckoning.
