Biden Attends Maui Victim Ceremony

President Joe Biden was caught dozing off during a solemn ceremony honoring the victims of a terrible fire that raged through Maui, Hawaii.

The ceremony was the first of its kind since President Biden took office and was meant to recognize the lives lost in the devastating Tropical Firestorm that has recently plagued the picturesque island.

The President was reportedly spotted dosing off during proceedings. The lapse in concentration was an image no American wanted to see. Some onlookers were hoping for a stirring presentation from the President that might send some measure of comfort and healing to those whose lives had been irrevocably affected by the disaster.

Instead, Biden was dozing off while families, friends, and loved ones of the dead and missing were standing around him, paying silent tribute to their lost ones.

This begs the question: is Biden too old to be President of the United States? The numbing exhaustion that often follows the leader’s extended absence from the White House has taken its toll. Biden has taken numerous vacations across the country since his inauguration, and has been on an extended trip in Hawaii for the past two weeks.

The President, despite his advanced age, has certainly shown he’s still full of energy when he’s got something he cares about. He’ll dash around and pose for pictures during ice cream runs and the like. However, it seems his enthusiasm barely registers on the solemn occasions where he should be the one leading the ceremony.

The incident is also different from former President George W. Bush who, while receiving unwarranted criticism for his handling of the Katrina disaster, never dozed off during a ceremony honoring the dead.

The unprofessional antics of the President should be condemned. We know that Biden is not a young man but that still cannot excuse his apparent lack of respect and interest for the lives lost in the Maui Firestorm. To sleep while offering honors to those who lost everything is simply not acceptable.

What’s more concerning is the media blackout on this incident. Apparently, there have been no official statements nor news coverage on this monumental lapse of attention. This raises questions of why the corporate media would choose to overlook a serious issue of such magnitude.

The tragedy of the Maui Firestorm and the numerous lives lost deserve profound recognition and attention. It is the duty of the President to pay his respects, no matter how uncomfortable or tedious the proceedings may be. Americans do not need another moment of embarrassment due to the lack of respect shown by their leader. It is time for Joe Biden to show his respect for those who have suffered terrible losses and demonstrate a real, heartfelt tribute of understanding and respect.
