Zohran Mamdani’s response to the deadly terror attack in Boulder, Colorado, reveals yet again the staggering moral evasiveness that has come to define his politics.
In a carefully worded post, Mamdani acknowledged the death of Karen Diamond, an 82-year-old Holocaust survivor who was murdered in the June 1 firebombing by Mohamed Soliman, an Egyptian national in the U.S. illegally. But instead of calling it what it was — a terror attack — Mamdani soft-pedaled the language, saying Diamond had “passed away.”

He did it moments after severely burning several Jewish-Americans who had gathered to support the hostages held in the terror tunnels under Gaza.

Let’s be clear: this was not a passing. It was a deliberate act of politically motivated violence against pro-Israel demonstrators calling for the release of hostages held by Hamas in Gaza. Soliman’s actions, according to authorities, were explicitly tied to the slogan “globalize the intifada” — a phrase Mamdani himself has embraced, refused to denounce, and, in some cases, publicly amplified.
That context matters. Because when a leading mayoral candidate in America’s largest city can’t bring himself to call out terrorism when it targets Jews — or worse, subtly rewords the event to erase the intent — it signals just how far the Overton window has shifted.

Mamdani’s record makes this response even more indefensible. He has repeatedly aligned himself with anti-Israel movements, invoked revolutionary rhetoric with impunity, and openly identifies as a communist — all while sidestepping direct questions about Hamas, radical Islamism, or the real-world consequences of the ideologies he traffics in.
And yet, with the corporate media fawning over his every move, Mamdani has calculated that vague platitudes and passive voice will be enough to avoid accountability. He offered “thoughts” about Karen Diamond’s death, but no condemnation of the ideology behind her murder — an ideology he refuses to challenge, likely because it would implicate his own words and allies.
