Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) has once again found herself at the center of self-inflicted embarrassment, this time by posting a bizarre, cringeworthy protest video ahead of President Donald Trump’s address to Congress.
Instead of engaging in serious political discourse, Crockett opted to dance and lip-sync to Kendrick Lamar’s Not Like Us, seemingly under the impression that performative social media antics equate to meaningful resistance.

While other Democrats debated how to disrupt Trump’s speech—floating ideas like noisemakers and hand-clappers—Crockett went a different route, trading in substance for spectacle. Her caption, “DO NOT WATCH!”, turned out to be surprisingly sound advice, given the sheer secondhand embarrassment her video generated.
This, apparently, is what passes for political engagement in some corners of the Democratic Party. The video, which attempts to be edgy and defiant, instead lands somewhere between a Steve Buscemi “How do you do, fellow kids?” moment and an amateur TikTok audition.

Overlay text in the clip reads: “The country is divided. Somebody’s gotta fight for it.” And what, exactly, does that fight look like? Crockett awkwardly mouthing lyrics while backup “singers” chant behind her.
The backlash was swift and brutal. While most responses were unprintable, the word “embarrassing” appeared frequently in the comments.

Unfortunately, Crockett’s penchant for attention-seeking behavior isn’t limited to social media stunts. Just a day before her Super Bowl-inspired protest, she declared President Trump an “enemy of the state” and claimed he was “occupying the White House.”
She also warned that Trump’s peace negotiations with Ukraine and Russia would somehow lead to World War III—a claim that flies in the face of basic logic. And earlier in the day, she even implied that Vice President Kamala Harris could have led the country to the “promised land.”
