Elon Musk Seen With President Trump For A Moment At Kirk Memorial

At Charlie Kirk’s memorial service, amid the hymns, prayers, and tears, one moment stood out as both symbolic and deeply significant: Donald Trump and Elon Musk, seated side by side, shaking hands and speaking warmly.

It wasn’t long ago that the two were locked in a bitter feud. Musk had criticized the July reconciliation package, warning about unchecked government spending, while Trump blasted back with his trademark ferocity. Musk even flirted with the idea of launching a third party, posting on X that he might take his own path if Washington didn’t get serious about fiscal responsibility. For weeks, their social media exchanges looked like the end of any productive partnership.

But Charlie Kirk, just days before his assassination, saw things differently. On the July 1 episode of The Charlie Kirk Show, he expressed his conviction that the fight wouldn’t last. “Sometimes things get very heated and then there’s a reconciliation — there’s a rapprochement,” Kirk said. He specifically singled out Trump and Musk, saying conservatives needed both of them working collaboratively.

And that’s exactly what happened on Sunday.

Video from inside the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, showed Trump leaning toward Musk in conversation, smiling, even clapping him on the knee. A still photo captured the two clasping hands in a gesture that spoke volumes: the feud was over. Musk, for his part, appeared relaxed, grinning as he engaged with the president.

It was a scene loaded with political significance. Musk is not just the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, but also the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), the Trump-created agency that has identified more than $206 billion in savings since its establishment — about $1,279.50 per taxpayer. His independence and sometimes-contrarian instincts make him a unique ally, and his reconciliation with Trump signals a renewed alignment on issues like spending, regulation, and free speech.

Kirk himself often pointed to Trump’s ability to make peace with former rivals — like Ron DeSantis, once his fiercest GOP primary opponent. By the summer of 2024, Trump and DeSantis were standing shoulder to shoulder at immigration facilities, their relationship a “ten” by Trump’s own description. Kirk understood that what mattered wasn’t the sharpness of past words, but the shared mission ahead.

On Sunday, Trump and Musk embodied that truth.
