Hunter Biden‘s attorney has now admitted that a controversial 2017 WhatsApp message asking for money from a CCP–linked businessman was indeed his client‘s.
The revelation came just one day after the House Ways and Means Committee released IRS whistleblower testimony that alleged Hunter Biden had sent the message, utilizing his proximity to then–Vice President Joe Biden as leverage. Friday‘s statement attempted to distance President Joe Biden from the scandal by framing Hunter Biden as a victim of a “horrible addiction“ at the time.
“The DOJ investigation covered a period which was a time of turmoil and addiction for my client,” the statement read.
Clark added that “any verifiable words or actions of my client in the midst of a horrible addiction are solely his own and have no connection to anyone in his family“.
The statement comes as Breitbart News reported that, according to the 2020 Senate report on the Biden family, the Biden business received $5.1 million within ten days of the text message in August 2017. The same report also states that string of payments followed the initial $100,000 payment from a holder of a CEFC and that these payments continued for the following year and totaled as much as $4.7 million.
Moreover, it has also emerged that IRS whistleblower testimony revealed that the FBI investigators allegedly wanted to obtain the location data to confirm that Joe Biden was in fact in the same location as Hunter Biden when he sent the text message. As the scandal surrounding the Biden family continues to mount, the House Oversight Committee led by James Comer found a $3 million wire transfer made by a Chinese energy company, CEFC, to a Biden associate.
According to the committee‘s findings, this payment was then broken up between four members of the Biden family, including an “unidentified Biden“.
At this point, Hunter Biden‘s attorney‘s statement appears to be yet another attempt to distance President Joe Biden from the ongoing scandal. With an ever–growing number of incriminating evidence, the President can no longer hide from the facts. President Joe Biden must now come before the public and answer for the actions of his son.
