President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have been hit with articles of impeachment, with officials accusing them of inappropriately handling their leadership roles and of “weaponizing” the presidential office.
Tennessee’s Representative Andy Ogles along with some Republicans presented the articles of impeachment on Monday, alleging that Biden had been shielding his family’s business and influence-peddling schemes from congressional oversight and accountability.
“Joe Biden hasn’t just failed the American people with his abysmal excuse for ‘leadership,’ he’s violated his sworn oath to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States. Joe Biden has repeatedly abused his position of power, both as vice president and president, to cover up his illicit family business dealings and exploitation of taxpayer resources,” Ogles said in a statement.
The documents have also accused Biden of “manner contrary to the public trust and subversive of constitutional government,” particularly in how he has dealt with the crisis at the southern border.
Back in February, Ogles had yelled, “It’s your fault,” during the State of the Union Address when Biden was speaking about fentanyl deaths and later clarified that he was one among those who had shouted at the president regarding the issue.
Moreover, the impeachment articles focus on Harris’s performance as vice president, particularly on how she has dealt with the immigration issues at the nation’s borders.
It has highlighted her extraordinary incompetence and GOP criticisms over the lack of effort and hesitancy in visiting the border to assess the situation and her actions as Border Czar.
The issue has prompted mounting criticisms among Republicans and had grown into a prime confrontation between members of both parties over immigration.
If Biden and Harris were to be officially impeached, both parties would face major punishments, including removal from office and a possible ban from serving in the government.
The US Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia is yet to comment on the issue, however, the papers for impeachment have already been filed.
While Biden has not yet responded to the accusations, Harris has yet to publicly comment on the issue.
With the ongoing cases that are still in the process and legal proceedings that are expected in the near future, there is significant attention on whether Biden and Harris will be officially impeached and face the ensuing punishments that come with it. At this time, all that remains are speculations, and while the impeachment article are awaiting response from the US attorney‘s office, the nation shifts its eyes to see how Biden and Harris will respond to the charges.
How it will all unfold remains to be seen.
Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have refused to protect and defend the Constitution.
They have mired their office in criminal activity and political weaponization.
It is time their corruption be brought to task with the full force of the law.https://t.co/xqro2eTKFT
