A recently released poll expressed that the lead normally held by Democrats over the GOP concerning Hispanics has sunk to an all-time low.
The NBC News/Telemundo poll was carried out between Sept. 17-26 and over 75% of the respondents completed the survey in English while just 25% completed it in Spanish, expressed NBC News. 54% of the total respondents still showed a more Democrat-leaning stance, while over 33% favored Republicans.
Making a note of the 20-point difference, which is half of the 20-point margin sported by the Democrats back in 2012 regarding Hispanics, stated Democratic pollster Aileen Cardona-Arroyo, “Being down by 20 points is a lot better [for Republicans] than being down by 40 points.”
Since 2012, Democrats have sat ahead of Republicans by 38 points in 2016, 34 points in 2018, and 26 points in October 2020 in the NBC/Telemundo poll.
Many Hispanics were almost evenly divided concerning Old Uncle Joe as 51% issued approval of his overall performance while a staggering 45% entirely disapproved.
In a not-so-surprising turn of events, the Hispanic population of California was far more likely to back Democrats than the Hispanics from Florida. California Hispanics heavily preferred the ideals of the Democratic party by a margin of over 30 points, but Hispanics from Florida only seemingly preferred them by a small seven points.
After examing the data, Hispanic men leaned much more heavily toward Republicans than Hispanic women; Among Hispanic men, Democrats gained a margin of nine points, but among Hispanic women, the margin spiked up to 29 points.
Non-Catholic Hispanic respondents favored Democrats by only 15 points, while Catholic Hispanic respondents favored Democrats by 27 points.
Hispanics “prefer Republicans over Democrats on the economy (38% say the GOP better handles the issue, versus 34% who say Democrats do), on border security (36%-33%) and on crime (36%-28%),” expressed NBC News.
Hispanic voters mostly felt that the main issue the U.S. needed to deal with was the overall cost of living, rapidly followed by “threats to democracy,” and thirdly the economy and jobs. The overall significance of that was backed by the idea that 54% of the respondents did not agree with how Biden was dealing with the economy and 60 percent disapproved of the cost of living due to Biden’s choices.
A poll from CBS, which was carried out near the end of July, discovered that the massive surge in support for the Republican Party by Hispanics had grown so strong that essentially a tie existed between the two parties.
Evidence had been mounting for the massive shift throughout Hispanics for many months and now seems to be coming to fruition.
