The left has found a new villain, and his name is Elon Musk. Not because he’s suddenly changed his politics—Musk has always leaned more centrist, a self-proclaimed Andrew Yang Democrat—but because he refuses to fall in line. He’s a Trump supporter, he’s running the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), and, perhaps worst of all in the eyes of the progressive elite, he’s a billionaire who won’t do what he’s told.
Democrats love billionaires—as long as they donate to their causes, fund their PACs, and champion their agendas. But Musk? He doesn’t play by their rules. And that’s why the attacks against him aren’t just political anymore; they’ve turned violent.
Since January, Tesla dealerships have become ground zero for left-wing rage, with escalating acts of vandalism, arson, and even gunfire aimed at Musk’s company. Graffiti, Molotov cocktails, torched charging stations—this isn’t just random destruction. It’s coordinated, and in some cases, it’s even paid for.
One protester openly admitted to being compensated for his anti-Musk activism. “I get paid to be out here,” he said. “Definitely. 100 percent.” But who’s funding this? Some point to ActBlue, the massive Democratic fundraising platform, as a possible source. And given the recent pattern of politically motivated street activism, it wouldn’t be the first time paid demonstrators were used to push a narrative.
The attacks on Tesla facilities span multiple states and show no signs of slowing down:
- Jan. 29 – Feb. 11: In Colorado, Lucy Grace Nelson was arrested after repeatedly vandalizing a Tesla dealership, spray-painting “Nazi” on the sign and tossing Molotov cocktails onto the lot.
- March 3: In Maryland, Tesla protesters left graffiti saying “No Musk” alongside a swastika-like symbol.
- March 4: In Massachusetts, seven Tesla charging stations were set on fire.
- March 6: In Boston, a man was caught defacing Tesla cars with Musk’s face, calling it “free speech.”
- March 6: In Portland, gunshots were fired at a Tesla dealership, damaging cars and shattering windows.
What’s the common denominator? Musk’s role in the Trump administration. His critics aren’t targeting other electric vehicle companies. They’re not going after Ford or GM, both of which produce EVs. This isn’t about the cars. It’s about politics.
Musk’s leadership at DOGE is causing headaches for the very people who thrive on government inefficiency. His department is exposing wasteful spending, unnecessary bureaucracy, and programs that exist purely to funnel taxpayer dollars into pet projects and special interests. And that makes him a threat.
Democrats and their media allies spent years directing all their rage at Donald Trump, but now that he’s back in office, that rage has nowhere to go. They’ve already thrown everything at him. Impeachments, indictments, media smears—you name it. He still won. So now, the derangement has to find a new target. Enter Elon Musk.
If this kind of targeted violence were happening to any left-wing CEO—if activists were firebombing Starbucks because of their union-busting or shooting at a Disney office because of their corporate decisions—there would be wall-to-wall media coverage. It would be declared a national crisis. But because the target is Elon Musk, the same media that ran breathless coverage over a broken window at the Capitol in 2021 has nothing to say about literal Molotov cocktails being hurled at businesses.
