Schumer Responds To Protests

As Los Angeles continues to reel from a week of violent unrest, Democratic leadership is nowhere to be found—or at least, not saying much. On Capitol Hill, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer was directly asked a simple question:

“Senator, what do Democrats mean when they say the LA protests are peaceful?”

He said nothing. No defense. No explanation. He simply walked away, offering silence in the face of mounting violence and public confusion. That silence speaks volumes.

Since last Friday, Los Angeles has descended into chaos, beginning as an anti-ICE demonstration but quickly evolving into full-blown civil unrest. Among the alarming developments:

  • One protester arrested with Molotov cocktails

  • Three others arrested while armed

  • Assaults on police officers with rocks and other projectiles

  • Vehicles set on fire

  • Businesses looted, with a body found nearby

This is not peaceful protest. It’s destruction, intimidation, and lawlessness. Yet despite the unmistakable evidence of violence—including videos and eyewitness accounts—the media and Democrat leaders have stubbornly clung to the “peaceful protest” narrative, insisting that clips showing destruction are misleading or taken “out of context.”

Schumer’s refusal to address the reality on the ground reflects a larger communications breakdown within Democratic leadership. The lack of a coherent message has left citizens questioning whether the party takes public safety seriously—or if it is simply unwilling to acknowledge the consequences of its own rhetoric.

Meanwhile, federal authorities have begun deploying tactical units to contain the violence. That’s not a partisan exaggeration—it’s a reality on the ground. When Molotovs are being thrown and police are under siege, the term “peaceful” collapses under its own absurdity.
