Senator Has Scary Moment Has Scary Tumble

Elizabeth Warren had quite a moment on Thursday — and the internet isn’t about to let her live it down.

The Massachusetts senator took an awkward tumble on the Senate floor after leaning on a desk that apparently wasn’t built to handle the pressure. The desk toppled, and Warren fell backward onto one of the chamber’s tiered platforms, creating a brief commotion as more than half a dozen senators rushed over to help her.

First on the scene? None other than Sen. Ted Cruz, who quickly assisted his longtime ideological sparring partner. Warren appeared to give Cruz a few grateful pats before regaining her footing. Thankfully, she seemed unharmed.

Of course, it didn’t take long for video of the fall to go viral. And Twitter (sorry, X) wasted no time roasting her.

“This puts the Tip in Tippecanoe. (I’ll see myself out),” quipped conservative commentator Clay Travis, referencing Warren’s long-controversial claims of Native American ancestry.

Dave Rubin of The Rubin Report followed up with a zinger: “Warren’s Indian name was Falls On A**.” Another user piled on: “Looks like Senator Warren has been hitting the peace pipe.”

It was only a matter of time before her ancestry controversy resurfaced. Warren has been dogged for years over identifying as Native American on official documents — including her 1986 State Bar of Texas registration card — despite having, at most, a distant Native ancestor between six and 10 generations back. Her infamous 2018 DNA test, meant to quiet critics, backfired spectacularly, earning a sharp rebuke from the Cherokee Nation for trivializing tribal identity. Warren later admitted she had mishandled the situation, apologizing for the “confusion and harm” her claims caused.

So now, in the most Warren way possible, her very literal fall has become a figurative one — a meme-fest blending slapstick humor with her old political baggage.

If nothing else, the incident gave America a rare sight: Ted Cruz and Elizabeth Warren on the same side — if only for a moment, and only to get her back on her feet.
