House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) was issued a very cryptic threat from Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) in the wake of the Democrat’s removal from his role on the House Intelligence Committee.
Swalwell, who allegedly carried out an affair with a spy from China, expressed to McCarthy that he is sure that the speaker will “regret” his choice, seemingly trying to hint at some form of political retribution for the event.
“We will not be quiet,” stated Dwalwell in a release on Wednesday, seemingly making reference to fellow Democratic Reps. Adam Schiff of California and Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, who recently was removed from committees they previously served on. “We’re not going away. I think he’ll regret giving all three of us more time on our hands.”
“But at the end of the day, our mission now is to restore the credibility and integrity of this institution of which the speaker has so gravely, so gravely smashed and destroyed,” stated the Democrat.
Swalwell also made the claim that McCarthy is the one that is entirely responsible for the alleged death threats that he has been getting, alleging, “Even though we have said publicly, ‘These smears are bringing death threats against us,’ he continues to do it, which makes us believe that there’s an intent behind it.”

Swalwell has recently refused to speak about recent reports that he carried out an affair close to 10 years ago with Christine Fang, a known Chinese national who also went by the name Fang Fang, who attempted to pose as a political supporter but was later discovered to be a spy for China.
“Eric Swalwell cannot get a security clearance in the public sector. Why would we ever give him a security clearance in the secrets to America? So, I will not allow him to be on Intel,” stated McCarthy this past November.
The speaker of the House has also stated that the FBI never issued a briefing to congressional leaders concerning Swalwell’s alleged relationship with the spy until he was assigned a role on the Intelligence Committee.
“So, it wasn’t just us who were concerned about it,” explained the Republican. “The FBI was concerned about putting a member of Congress on the Intel Committee, that has the rights to see things that others don’t, because of his knowledge and relationship with a Chinese spy. I got that briefing, so I do not believe he should sit on that committee… and I believe there’s 200 other Democrats that can serve on that committee.”
On Tuesday, McCarthy chose to annnounce that he had removed both Schiff and Swalwell, who are famous for pushing the Trump-Russia collusion hoax, from spots on the House Intelligence Committee.
I have rejected the appointments of Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell for the House Intelligence Committee.
I am committed to returning the @HouseIntel Committee to one of genuine honesty and credibility that regains the trust of the American people. pic.twitter.com/ePxlbanxta
