AOC Gets Slammed After Attempting To Attack Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX) About Stance On Gas Stoves

This past Wednesday, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) found herself the target of some hefty mockery in the wake of an image going public of her using a gas stove in what seemed to be her residence after she previously, and openly, claimed that exposure to gas stoves could result in cognitive issues.

Richard Trumka Jr, the Consumer Product Safety Commission Commissioner, commented this past Monday in a Bloomberg interview that the presence of gas stoves is a “hidden hazard” and stated “any option is on the table” for trying to ban the appliances.

Formerly a White House physician, Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX) issued a response on Tuesday, saying, “I’ll NEVER give up my gas stove.”

“If the maniacs in the White House come for my stove, they can pry it from my cold dead hands,” he stated. “COME AND TAKE IT!!”

AOC fired back. “Did you know that ongoing exposure to NO2 from gas stoves is linked to reduced cognitive performance[?]”

Despite her claims and her attempts to scold a colleague, a post popped up this past Wednesday highlighting a picture from a video from AOC’s Instagram in which she is cooking on what seems to be a gas stove in her home kitchen.

“@aoc says gas stoves cause ‘reduced cognitive performance’ – yet she uses a gas stove?” stated Jackson. “Is this a self diagnosis? AOC, as a medical doctor, I can tell you this: what’s wrong with your head IS NOT caused by stoves. Something WAY BIGGER is causing your decreased cognitive function!”

Rep. Bill Huizenga (R-MI) put forth a piece of legislation recently blocking the federal government from issuing any bans against stoves being powered by natural gas.

“The last thing Americans need or want is another big government bureaucratic decision telling us which appliance we can have in our home,” Huizenga explained via a press release. “The STOVE Act is a common-sense measure that will stop bureaucrats from banning gas stoves or ranges. Americans should have the ability to choose the most affordable and most available way to cook food in their own home. It is absolutely ridiculous how out of control and out of touch the nanny state in Washington has become.”

Close to 38% of households across the country make use of gas stoves for cooking, with that particular number climbing up to 70% for states such as New Jersey and California as reported by data issued by the Energy Information Administration.

The legislation stated that no federal agency “may propose, implement, or finalize a rule or guidance that restricts or bans the use and purchase of gas-powered stoves, cooktops, ranges, or ovens” within the United States. The introduction of this bill comes directly behind a statement from CPSC Chairman Alex Hoehn-Saric in which he clarified that neither he nor the group has any plans whatsoever to try and ban gas stoves after the statements from Trumka, who has been appointed by President Joe Biden and is the son of former AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka, sparked intense controversy across the country.
