On Thursday, President Joe Biden’s campaign took a hit as he faced several embarrassing moments while trying to rally support in Wisconsin.
The day started with Biden’s struggles to board a plane at Joint Base Andrews, which raised concerns among his supporters about his overall health and ability to lead the country. Once he landed in Wisconsin, Biden had another misstep when he garbled the title of the president of the AFL-CIO, a powerful labor union that endorses candidates in elections. Biden’s lackluster performance is a stark contrast to former President Donald Trump, who is receiving enthusiastic cheers and support at his campaign events. This difference in reception can be attributed to Biden’s poor track record in the Oval Office. With soaring inflation and rising costs, people are feeling the strain on their wallets and are comparing the current administration’s performance to that of Trump’s.
Aside from the low energy and embarrassing mistakes, Biden also made a glaring error during the private meeting. As he went around the room, he stated, “With a little bit of luck and you all making sure that we change things here…You got some senators I’d like to see change, too.”
However, the only senator up for re-election in Wisconsin this term is Democrat Tammy Baldwin. This begs the question, does Biden even know what he is saying anymore? It’s not surprising that supporters may feel demoralized and disheartened seeing their candidate make such mistakes and appear so old and frail.
This raises concerns about Biden’s ability to lead the country effectively, especially in times of crisis. His struggling performances and lapses in memory and speech only add to the doubts and uncertainties surrounding his presidency.
