Bungled Fed Raid Has Dire Consequences

This past week, a group of federal agents reportedly rushed into the incorrect hotel room in Boston and accosted, arrested, and interrogated an unassuming & uninvolved man.

The Boston Division of the FBI had been called in and was “assisting” agents with the Department of Defense in a “training exercise at a hotel in Boston to simulate a situation their personnel might encounter in a deployed environment,” as explained via a statement which ended up being released by the bureau.

At just about ten o’clock in the evening, the group of federal agents ended up being “mistakenly sent to the wrong room and detained an individual, not the intended role player” in a fiasco that has since ended up being blamed on “inaccurate information.”

A few sources explained to WBZ-TV, a local affiliate for CBS, that agents stormed the room and woke the man — who has been identified as being a pilot for Delta Air Lines — handcuffed him, carried out an interrogation for well over an hour, and then put him inside the shower of the 15th floor of the Revere Hotel.

The federal agents expressed that no one had been injured in the events of the bungled raid.

“The Boston Police Department was called and responded to the scene to confirm that this was indeed a training exercise,” explained the FBI. “Safety is always a priority of the FBI, and our law enforcement partners, and we take these incidents very seriously. The Boston Division is reviewing the incident with DOD for further action as deemed appropriate.”

As a representative of the U.S. Army Special Operations Command, Lt. Col. Mike Burns spoke up to express the DoD’s “deepest apologies” to the accosted pilot.

“The training was meant to enhance soldiers’ skills to operate in realistic and unfamiliar environments. The training team, unfortunately, entered the wrong room and detained an individual unaffiliated with the exercise,” he expressed in a statement reported on by The Associated Press.

Delta Air Lines has released its own statement expressing that it was “looking into reports of an alleged incident in Boston that may involve Delta people” and had “nothing further to share at this time other than to reaffirm our commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of our people.”
