Carmen Ramirez Speaks At Trump Event

As the 2024 election nears its critical final days, former President Donald Trump held a rally in Macon, Georgia, addressing issues central to his campaign, including immigration and crime, while rallying support in the battleground state.

The event was delayed due to Trump’s prior rally in North Carolina, but a crowd waited eagerly at the Atrium Health Amphitheater to hear from Trump and a lineup of prominent Georgia Republicans, including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Herschel Walker, and former senators David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler.

Trump’s Georgia rally focused heavily on immigration, touching on a particularly emotional topic by referencing high-profile cases where undocumented immigrants allegedly committed violent crimes.

Trump brought up the case of Minelys “Mimi” Rodriguez-Ramirez, a 25-year-old woman from Cornelia, Georgia, whose tragic death in October was allegedly at the hands of Angel DeJesus Rivera-Sanchez, an acquaintance from the Hispanic community. Rivera-Sanchez, who is currently under investigation to determine his legal status in the United States, reportedly worked in construction and was apprehended in Atlanta as he attempted to flee.

The Senate Committee on Public Safety has since commented on the case, with Senator John Albers calling the arrest “a reminder of the need for stronger border enforcement.” Senator Steve Gooch added, “Enough is enough,” echoing calls for policies to protect American communities from violent crime linked to illegal immigration.

The case of Mimi Rodriguez-Ramirez brings a human face to Trump’s proposed immigration reforms, underscoring his focus on strict enforcement. Trump spoke about implementing the death penalty for undocumented immigrants convicted of killing American citizens, a controversial policy intended to project strength and deterrence. The audience responded with visible emotion as Trump declared, “I will not let these animals into our country any longer. I will not let them spill one more precious drop of American blood.”

Meanwhile, Mimi’s family continues to grieve. Her mother, Carmen Ramirez, shared the pain of explaining her daughter’s death to Mimi’s young daughter, Jonielys, currently residing with her father in Puerto Rico. The family is now fundraising to return Mimi’s body to Puerto Rico for a Christian burial. The GoFundMe campaign seeks $8,000 to help cover these expenses, with Carmen describing Mimi as “outgoing and full of life.” Her fiancé, Julio Tovor, shared how Mimi had been working to support her daughter, recently becoming active on OnlyFans, where she provided fitness inspiration and other content.
