Elon Musk Receives Odd Message From Purported Inventor Of Email About Twitter Leadership

An MIT-trained brainiac sometimes credited with creating digital correspondence, Shiva Ayyadurai, posted via social media this past Saturday that he too was interested in the job of running Twitter as its CEO. In the wake of buying Twitter this past October for $44 billion and running the company, Musk has stated that he now plans to step down in order to along with a poll carried out via his social media account that seemed to state that the platform’s users want a new person to run the company.

“Dear Mr. Musk, I am interested in the CEO position @Twitter,” posted Ayyadurai in a post. “I have 4 degrees from MIT & have created 7 successful high-tech software companies. Kindly advise of the process to apply. Sincerely, Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai, MIT PhD The Inventor of Email.”

Ayyadurai has made the claim that he is the inventor of email and did so as a teen back in 1982 when he officially registered the copyright for an application he designed. He slammed gawker along with another site for, attempting to dispute his claims, and choosing to settle both cases without going to court. A vocal Republican, Ayyadurai, aged 59, has made two entirely unsuccessful bids for Senate in Massachusetts. The man has also been a vocal skeptic of the various COVID vaccines and has pushed for the firing of National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Anthony Fauci.

Musk recently stated in a post that he would fully step out of the role in the wake of a poll on his Twitter account from December 18th which resulted in 57.5% of users voting that he should replace himself. Musk has also issued a series of changes across the platform during his time and has also made it a point to release a series of very damning internal messages predating his takeover which put a spotlight on how the platform previously worked alongside a number of government agencies like the FBI to heavily censor conservatives in media.

Just this past week, Musk explained that he plans to focus on the hardware and software side of the company in the wake of instituting a new CEO for the company.

“I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job!” he stated in a tweet. “After that, I will just run the software & servers teams.”

This high-profile and heavily advertised position has sparked extreme speculation about the possible successor to Musk. A number of users believe that Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey, who has previously held the position, could end up coming back as the new leader. Additional names that have been highlighted across social media include former Facebook executive Sheryl Sandberg, engineer and close Musk associate Sriram Krishnan, and Jared Kushner, former President Trump’s son-in-law

“The question is not finding a CEO, the question is finding a CEO who can keep Twitter alive,” exclaimed Musk. “As the saying goes, be careful what you wish, as you might get it.”
