A fresh-faced House Republican has Tried to make a name for themselves as they kick off the 118th Congress with a few choice gifts.
Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL) chose to hand out what claims are entirely inert grenades to his fellow congressmen, highlighting his appointment to committees responsible for the protection of national security.
Morgan Phillips, a reporter with the Daily Mail, was able to share a photo late last week of one of these shocking trinkets that which highlights the engraved elephant symbol of the Republican Party on the grande, along with an accompanying letter.

“Welcoming you to a mission-oriented 118th Congress. I am eager to get to work for the American people, and I look forward to working with you to deliver on this commitment. I am honored to be a part of the Armed Services and Foreign Affairs Committees,” stated Mills in the letter handed out alongside the grenades.
“In that spirit, it is my pleasure to give you a 40 mm grenade, made for a MK19 grenade launcher. These are manufactured in the Sunshine State and first developed in the Vietnam War,” his statement went on.
Mills also sounded the call for his fellow congressmen and women to “come together and get to work on behalf of our constituents.” To go along with all of this, the letter contained a footnote that explained that all of the grenades were rendered inert prior to being handed out.
One spokesperson for the new congressman Mills officially confirmed to The Washington Post explained that the contents highlighted in the post were entirely legitimate before making sure to stress that “the grenades are inert, and were cleared through all security metrics.”
Mills is known to be a highly decorated combat veteran with the U.S. Army, along with being a successful businessman who ended up being an appointee for former President Donald Trump in order to work as part of a Pentagon Defense advisory board. He was able to fully, and successfully, a campaign to be the elected representative of Florida’s 7th Congressional District in this past 2022 election cycle.
Throughout the previously mentioned campaign, Mills was all over headlines for an ad that was mocking the “liberal media” for “crying” about just how his company, PACEM Solutions, sold riot-control munitions, things such as tear gas, which members of law enforcement utilized against people taking part in Black Lives Matter demonstrations and many other events.
