Former Vice President Kamala Harris told podcast host Keke Palmer that she wants to expand the Supreme Court. She said the court needs more justices to back the spirit of the Constitution. This came during a Tuesday interview on the “Baby, This is Keke Palmer” show.
Harris also said the popular vote must matter more. If residents desire it, she advocated for Puerto Rico and D.C. to achieve statehood. She lost the 2024 election to Donald Trump, but she is still active. The New York Post reported on these comments. Harris is now building a campaign team for the future.
Harris believes the current number of judges is too low. Palmer was informed by her that 1869 marked the start of having nine justices. Y. David Scharf, a lawyer who spoke to Fox News, called this a bad idea. He said Harris wants to defend democracy but her plan changes the rules when Democrats lose. Scharf noted that nine justices have been the standard for over 150 years.
The former Vice President said she wants to change how the Electoral College works. She argued that the current system makes people feel overwhelmed. She believes the popular vote should decide the winner. These ideas are part of a larger push for change. The New York Post covered her full list of proposed changes.
Harris is not sure if she will run for president again. She told an NAACP event in Michigan that she has not decided. She said the next cycle depends on the midterms this year. “I do sincerely believe ’28 won’t matter if we don’t get through ’26,” she said. This comment was reported by Breitbart. She is already raising money in California.
She has hired a chief of staff and a communications director. Her team includes Candace Bond and Eduardo Negrón. She is visiting swing states like Wisconsin and Georgia. She is also going to Nevada and New Hampshire. These are early primary states for the 2028 race. The Washington Times noted she is building a final fall campaign blitz.
Harris joined a call with over 2,000 volunteers to knock on doors. She is trying to help other Democrats win seats in Congress. A report from the Wall Street Journal says she is laying the groundwork for a third campaign. She added more stops to her schedule as election day gets closer.

Harris will be in New Hampshire, Wisconsin, and Mississippi from October 21 to 30. She will also do a virtual event in Florida. These trips are part of her closing stretch for the midterms. The goal is to win back the House and Senate. She says winning those seats is key to her future plans.
The former Vice President is watching the midterms closely. She says she has not made a final choice on 2028.
