KJP Gets Criticism Over Claim About Thanksgiving Dinner Prices

The high cost of living has been a major concern for Americans since President Joe Biden and his economic policies, known as Bidenomics, took effect. From grocery prices to housing and everything in between, Americans have seen a significant increase in the cost of goods and services under Biden’s administration.

What’s even more infuriating is that the White House has been trying to downplay these rising costs and spin a narrative that the economy is doing just fine. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre recently attempted to sell this fiction, claiming that Americans just don’t understand the economy yet. However, the truth is that Bidenomics has only made things more expensive for the average American.

In a recent press briefing, Jean-Pierre touted the supposedly “low” prices of Thanksgiving essentials as a sign of Biden’s success. She stated that gas prices have gone down $1.70 from their peak, airline tickets are down 13 percent, and car rentals have also seen a decrease. But these claims fall flat when we look at the bigger picture. While prices may have gone down slightly from their peak, they are still significantly higher than they were before Biden took office.

According to the American Farm Bureau’s annual survey, the cost of a classic Thanksgiving dinner for 10 people is $61.17. While this may seem like a reasonable price, it is still 25 percent higher than it was in 2019. And let’s not forget that in 2021, the cost of the same meal was $64.05, a staggering increase of over $10 from the previous year. These numbers show that while there may have been a slight decrease from last year’s prices, they are still much higher than they were before Biden took office.

Despite the facts, Jean-Pierre conveniently left out these details and even went as far as to blame Republicans for the rising prices. This is not the first time the White House has attempted to spin the narrative around rising costs. In 2020, they tried a similar tactic with 4th of July prices, but their attempts were met with public backlash.

It’s clear that Americans are not falling for the administration’s propaganda. In fact, a recent NBC poll showed that only 38 percent of Americans approve of Biden’s handling of the economy. This speaks volumes about the real impact of Bidenomics on the average American.

While the White House may try to take credit for getting rid of “junk fees” and claim that they are helping with prices, the reality is that their policies have only made things more expensive for Americans. As the holiday season approaches and families prepare for Christmas, they will surely feel the pinch of these rising costs. It’s time for the administration to stop pretending and start taking real action to alleviate the burden on Americans.
