NBC News host Chuck Todd has chosen to attack Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis with his complaints over a recently signed law titled “Victims of Communism Day” which is going to teach students in the state about the murderous history of the far-left ideology.
Todd issue the comments this past Sunday on an episode of “Meet the Press” while speaking about comments that were made by DeSantis last weekend in Las Vegas.
“We’re also the first state in the country to establish every November 10th, the day in our schools is earmarked, to teach our students at all grade levels about the evils of Communist regimes throughout history,” stated DeSantis. “We’re going to tell the truth about Marxism and Leninism.”
“I went to Florida public schools,” explained Todd. “We were taught this, it was called history. It just seems like a weird politicizing, you know, he’s going out of his way to politicize something.”

TRANSCRIPT:
CHUCK TODD: Well, and that’s the question. I don’t know if DeSantis is going to be talking to swing voters. Here’s one of the things he said in Vegas yesterday. Take a listen to this.
[BEGIN TAPE]
GOV. RON DeSANTIS:
We’re also the first state in the country to establish every November 10th, the day in our schools is earmarked, to teach our students at all grade levels about the evils of Communist regimes throughout history. We’re going to tell the truth about Marxism and Leninism.
[END TAPE]
CHUCK TODD: You know, Jonathan, it’s sort of like, look, being a Floridian, I sort of know what he’s trying to —
JONATHAN MARTIN: Who he’s talking to there.
CHUCK TODD: What he’s trying to play there and all of that. But I would tell him, I went to Florida public schools. You know, we were taught this, it was called history. It just seems like a weird politicizing, you know, he’s going out of his way to politicize something.
