New Poll Reveals Majority Of Americans Slam Blame Against Biden For The Struggling Economy

A recently revealed CBS News poll issued a prediction this past Sunday that Republicans would most likely end up taking control of the House of Representatives in the wake of the midterm elections coming this November — but the questions of a more economic nature were ones that foreshadowed even worse news for President Joe Biden.

The poll in question, CBS/YouGov Battleground Tracker, spoke to 2068 registered voters over the 12th-14th of October and asked a series of questions concerning the overall state of the economy, the upcoming elections, and whether or not they were satisfied with the direction the country was heading.

Even worse news for the Democrats spawned from the questions about the economy, as 65% of those questioned stated that they thought the economy of the United States was rapidly getting worse when compared to over 15% who thought it was getting better. Another 20% stated that the economy was on track to maintain the course.

Another massive swing in gas prices that recently took place did not help matters: 63% stated that gas prices in their area were skyrocketing compared to only 13% who said that gas prices were going down. In the same vein, back in August, just about 53% stated that fuel prices were dropping and only 16% stated that they were going back up.

To make the issue even worse for Democrats, the vast majority of those spoken to for the poll stated that both Democrat-led policies and Democrats themselves were a major part of the problem. Almost half of the respondents, roughly 48%, stated that Democratic policies had hurt the economy, and just under 29% claimed that they helped.

To go along with this, roughly 68% claimed that the Biden administration could be doing far more to fight the climbing inflation — while only 29% stated that the administration was already doing everything possible.

Roughly two-thirds claimed that Old Uncle Joe was responsible for either “a lot” (45%) or “some” (26%) of the responsibility for the current struggles of the economy — and just over a third of the respondents (42%) claimed that Republican policies would likely end up assisting the economy.

Despite the incoming news highlighting bad economic news earlier in the week, Old Uncle Joe expressed to reporters that the American economy was “strong as hell.” He attempted to insist that inflation was just a phenomenon happening around the globe and that things were far worse elsewhere around the globe than they were within the United States.

Jim Cramer, an anchor for CNBC, expressed that he did not agree, claiming that after the most recent numbers came to light that there was no good news to try and report.

“It was just plain bad. There’s absolutely nothing to say about it other than it was bad,” he concluded.
