Running Mate Of Democrat Charlie Crist Speaks Out Mocking Special Needs Kids

Karla Hernandez-Mats, the current running mate of Charlie Crist, the Democrat Floridian gubernatorial candidate, is seeing some pretty extreme criticism over a series of videos that have come to light highlighting her as effectively mocking special needs students as just “dysfunctional.”

Hernandez-Mats seemed to suggest while attending a campaign event held in Cape Coral that she was officially qualified to be the next lieutenant governor for Florida due to the fact that she use to be a special education teacher.

“I’m a teacher, I am a sp-ed teacher, so my major was emotionally-handicapped education, okay? That by itself qualifies me to deal with the dysfunctional legislature,” expressed Hernandez-Matz in the unearthed video that has since been obtained by Fox News. “[It’s] a unique set of, uh, you know, skill sets in order to deal with them.”

Hernandez-Mats has reportedly issued comments in that same vein quite a few times in public, as reported by the DeSantis War Room.

“So, I became a special education,” she explained. “My major was emotionally-handicapped education, and so that by itself uniquely makes me qualified to deal with dysfunctional legislators.”

Casey DeSantis, the wife of current Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R), issued harsh criticism of Hernandez-Mats due to the statements via a social media post sent out on Wednesday evening.

“Sickened by callous words from someone who claims to be an advocate for children,” explained the first lady. “Karla, saying children w/ unique abilities are ‘dysfunctional’ & equating them to political opponents is a new low. I will make it my mission to let all parents know of the ‘hate in your heart.’”

Hernandez-Mats is the president of the teachers union for Miami-Dade County and has a long history of issuing highly controversial statements.

Previously, she stated via a social media post that “many in Cuba mourn[ed]” the death of Fidel Castro, the oppressive communist dictator.

She has recently rushed to delete the tweet in the wake of it coming back to bite her and kicking off a series of headaches for the campaign.

Casey DeSantis took part in an interview this past Wednesday in order to kick off a new campaign seeking to unite the state’s mothers against the extreme agenda of the political left.

“It’s one thing when you come after a mama,” exclaimed the first lady in the interview directly after her “Mamas for DeSantis” event held in Coral Gables. “It’s another thing if you come after her kids.”
