School Officials Issue New Guidelines Are Bus Incident

Let’s get into it and discuss a recent and alarming situation that’s been unfolding in Southern California. This week, a group of migrants attempted to board school buses filled with children in San Diego County, causing serious concern among parents, school officials, and local law enforcement.

Here’s what happened: The incidents took place along two school bus routes in the Jamul-Dulzura Union School District, near Highway 94 and Cochera. On Tuesday, three migrants reportedly walked into the middle of the highway, attempting to stop a school bus.

The bus driver managed to avoid them and continue on, but this was just the beginning. The next morning, about 20 migrants rushed another school bus as it was picking up students at the same location. Fortunately, parents who were present at the scene helped the bus driver ensure that none of the migrants boarded the bus.

Nicole Cardinale, a parent whose eight-year-old son was on one of the affected buses, described the incident as “really scary.” She recounted how her son mentioned that the adults, who had backpacks on, tried to get on the bus and that there were many of them.

In response to these incidents, the school district’s superintendent, Liz Bystedt, has taken immediate action to protect students.

Bystedt announced that, for the safety of the students and bus drivers, buses will now skip stops where migrants are present and proceed to the next one on the route. She advised parents to stay vigilant and follow the bus if it bypasses a stop.

The reasons behind these attempts to board the buses are not entirely clear. Migrant advocate Pedro Rios suggested that the harsh conditions in the area, including heat and challenging terrain, might lead to desperate actions. However, this doesn’t diminish the fear and concern that parents and school officials are feeling.

The incidents have been reported to multiple authorities, including the U.S. Border Patrol, California Highway Patrol, and the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.

The Sheriff’s Office has issued a statement saying they are conducting a follow-up investigation to determine if any criminal acts occurred, emphasizing that they take student safety very seriously.
