Stranded Astronauts Return To Earth

After nearly a year, astronauts Barry “Butch” Wilmore and Sunita Williams have finally returned to Earth—but not because of anything the Biden administration did. In fact, their prolonged stay in space was yet another example of Biden’s unwillingness to take decisive action when it matters most.

The astronauts were effectively stranded due to a malfunction with Boeing’s Starliner capsule, yet when Elon Musk’s SpaceX offered a solution, the White House reportedly rejected it—because the optics of a successful Musk-led rescue would have been a political win for Donald Trump and the GOP.

That administration had a habit of leaving Americans behind. It abandoned citizens and allies in Afghanistan. It left teacher Marc Fogel rotting in a Russian prison while securing deals for celebrities like Brittney Griner. And for nearly a year, it left these astronauts floating in low-Earth orbit, waiting for a return plan that never came. Ultimately, it took less than two months under Trump’s leadership to do what Biden refused to—secure a resolution and bring them home.

Yet, even in the face of undeniable facts, MSNBC and other left-wing media outlets have attempted to spin the story, claiming that Wilmore and Williams were never really stranded—despite multiple mainstream sources, including PBS, ABC, BBC, C-SPAN, and Live Science, all using that exact term. The situation was clear: the mission was intended to last two weeks. Instead, they remained on the International Space Station for over nine months due to repeated technical failures, with no immediate plan to bring them home.

Adding to the weight of these reports, Wilmore himself confirmed that Musk’s claim about Biden blocking SpaceX’s rescue was “absolutely factual.” During an in-orbit press conference, he initially dismissed politics as a factor, but when asked directly about Musk’s statement, he responded: “I believe him.”

This is what the media won’t acknowledge. Biden’s refusal to accept Musk’s help wasn’t about safety. It wasn’t about logistics. It was about politics. His administration would rather see American astronauts stuck in space than allow a Trump-aligned figure like Musk to get credit for saving them. That’s the level of dysfunction and arrogance that has defined the last four years.
