Swift Comments After VMA

Taylor Swift’s journey through the 2024 VMAs made headlines for all the right reasons—cementing her as one of the most decorated artists in the show’s history.

Winning Video of the Year for *Fortnight*, her collaboration with Post Malone, marked her 30th VMA, tying her with Beyoncé as the most awarded artist at the VMAs. Swift took the opportunity to share her success with those close to her, giving a loving shout-out to her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, during her acceptance speech.

In a heartwarming moment, Swift reminisced about how Kelce cheered her on from the sidelines during the *Fortnight* music video shoot. “Everything that man touches turns to happiness and fun,” she said, thanking him for making the experience unforgettable.

Her speech was classic Taylor—full of gratitude for her fans, a nod to her Eras tour, and a powerful message about civic responsibility as she urged her fans to vote in the upcoming presidential election, for which she recently endorsed Kamala Harris.

Swift’s political stance made waves earlier in the week when she addressed the dangers of misinformation, particularly AI-generated fake images that falsely suggested she was endorsing Donald Trump. In a statement on social media, she set the record straight and made her own choice clear: Harris and Tim Walz were her picks for 2024.

But her VMA success didn’t stop there. In addition to Video of the Year, Swift racked up wins in categories like Artist of the Year, Best Collaboration, and Best Pop for *Fortnight*. The VMAs are no stranger to Swift’s milestones.

Her debut at the awards came back in 2008 when she was nominated for Best New Artist, and she has since amassed a long list of wins and unforgettable performances, from *You Belong With Me* in 2009 to her collaboration with Nicki Minaj in 2015.

While Sunday night didn’t see Swift perform, she still left her mark on the show—and on VMAs history.
