Easter Update On Biden’s 2024 Presidential Run

This past Monday President Joe Biden claimed that he does in fact intend to run for re-election but is not ready to make the formal announcement of his intent to start a campaign as of yet.

The comments were issued as part of an interview with NBC News from the White House as it was hosting its yearly Easter Egg Roll event.

“I plan on running, Al, but we’re not prepared to announce it yet,” stated Biden, standing right next to his wife Jill Biden, to Al Roker who was hosting the show “Today.”

Biden also chose to joke about being present for Easter celebrations at the White House for several years to come. “I’ll either be rollin’ egg or, you know, being the guy who’s pushing ‘em out!” he stated.

For the past few months, Biden has claimed that he does indeed plan to make a run for the office once again but has chosen to push back his final decision, and the subsequent filing, to a later date. The Democrat explained to MSNBC back in October that he did want to pursue another term but had not yet chosen to formally declare a bid because a “whole series of regulations kick in.”

At that time, the president also stated that Jill Biden stood in support of another campaign. “My wife thinks that we’re doing something very important and that I shouldn’t walk away from it,” he stated.

People known to be close to Biden expressed to Axios this past week that the President might wait to announce an official campaign until July or even later until the fall.

Opponents are already starting to get themselves lined up as the country gets ready for what will most likely be an exciting primary season. Counted among the Democrats seeking the party’s nomination is Marianna Williamson, a self-help author that ran back in 2020. Additionally,  Robert F. Kennedy Jr. officially filed for a new campaign just last week.

When it comes to the Republican side of the docket, former President Donald Trump is attempting to secure another term, setting up what could possibly be a rematch of the 2020 general election against Biden as Trump is forced to deal with a shocking number of criminal investigations. Additionally, Former South Carolina Governor and United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, and former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson have elected to throw their hats into the ring for the 2024 race to secure the GOP nomination. To go along with those, a few others are expected to step up but have not made the commitment yet such as former Vice President Mike Pence and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
