FOIA Request Raises New Questions

Records obtained by the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) through a Freedom of Information (FOIA) lawsuit reveal that President Joe Biden is running a secret program to fly hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens into the United States every year.

According to Todd Bensman, a senior national security fellow at CIS, the program is operated through a little-known flight component of Biden’s “CBP One” mobile app, which has allowed about 465,000 illegal aliens to schedule appointments at the U.S.-Mexico border for release into the interior from January 2023 to January 2024.

The mobile app’s flight component has flown additional hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens into 43 American airports in 2020 alone, Bensman reports. However, DHS officials have refused to disclose which airports are being used, citing “operational vulnerabilities” and concerns of “bad actors” exploiting the program. This has raised questions about the transparency of the Biden administration’s immigration policies and has sparked concerns about public safety.

In response, Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Representative Tom McClintock (R-CA) have called on DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to release a full numerical accounting of every illegal alien released by the agency into the United States since February 2021. However, Mayorkas has refused to answer the request, stating that releasing such information could pose a threat to public safety.

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates that from January 2021 through December 2023, Biden’s DHS will have welcomed 6.2 million illegal aliens into the country. This population is almost twice the annual American birth rate, raising concerns about the impact on the economy, healthcare system, and job market. The surge in illegal immigration has also caused overcrowding in detention facilities and has put a strain on the resources of border patrol agents.

One of the main concerns surrounding the “secret flights” program is the lack of transparency and accountability. The records obtained by CIS show that the program has been in operation since the beginning of the Biden administration, but the public was kept in the dark. This has raised questions about the administration’s commitment to transparency and has been criticized by lawmakers.

Some experts also argue that the “secret flights” program is in violation of immigration laws and sets a dangerous precedent. The program bypasses legal immigration processes and allows illegal aliens to enter the country without going through proper channels. This has raised concerns about national security and the integrity of the immigration system.

Despite these criticisms, the Biden administration has defended the program, stating that it is necessary to address the humanitarian crisis at the southern border. They argue that it is their duty to provide shelter and care to those seeking asylum in the United States. However, critics point out that the program doesn’t just apply to asylum seekers, but also to those who are crossing the border illegally and have no valid claim for asylum.

The “secret flights” program has also caused controversy due to its potential impact on local communities. With no information about where the illegal aliens are being flown or how they are being resettled, local communities are left in the dark about the influx of new residents. This could create tensions between citizens and immigrants, and could also put a strain on already limited resources.
