Marjorie Taylor Greene Speaks Out Against Harassment Against Politicians

As part of a statement issued via Twitter, Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene openly complained about recent harassment which took place at a restaurant this past Monday evening by a pair of people who were there dining who “turned into demons,” in the most recent example of conservative legislators being openly hounded in public by groups of angry leftists.

The Republican from Georgia did not offer up any direct details about the confrontation other than that the people who tormented her happened to be a woman and her adult son who apparently did not take kindly to her politics. Greene stated that the duo ran up to start screaming at her inside the restaurant while she spoke with a few members of her staff.

“They had no respect for the restaurant or the staff or the other people dining or people like me who simply have different political views,” expressed Greene in a post. “They are self righteous, insane, and completely out of control. I was sitting at my table, working with my staff, and never even noticed these people until they turned into demons.”

Although it was not well-known whether or not the incident took place in Greene’s home district in Georgia, Washington, or some third location, it brought to mind a number of confrontations that have taken place recently that have also involved Republicans.

In June 2018, then-White House Press Secretary Sara Huckabee Sanders ended up being rudely kicked out of a restaurant situated in Virginia because the owner did not like how she handled her politics. That very same year, then-Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen ended up being harassed while she tried to eat at a restaurant in Washington. As of July of this past year, Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh was openly harassed while sitting at a steakhouse in Washington by a large mob of angry liberals.

“People used to respect others even if they had different views,” stated Greene. “But not anymore. Our country is gone.”

This past week, Greene made the suggestion that it is time for the American public to take part in a “national divorce,” given the extreme divide between liberals and conservatives.

“We need to separate by red states and blue states and shrink the federal government. Everyone I talk to says this,” Greene stated in a social media post that went out on President’s Day. “From the sick and disgusting woke culture issues shoved down our throats to the Democrat’s traitorous America Last policies, we are done.”

The lawmaker went on to clarify that such a “national divorce” would not result in a “civil war.”
