Train From ‘Secretive Nuclear Division’ Of Russian Military Headed Towards Ukraine

Reportedly, a Russian military-controlled train is moving a significant amount of equipment for the country’s nuclear weapons program much closer to the frontlines of the war taking place against Ukraine and has sparked serious concerns over the possibility that Russian President Vladimir Putin just might be making preparations for the use of nuclear weapons against Ukraine as his country sports increasing losses in the face of Ukrainian counter assault.

As reported by The Telegraph, this train, in particular, is “operated by the secretive nuclear division and linked to the 12th main directorate of the Russian ministry of defence.” The train in question, which was seen via a picture on a Russian propaganda telegram account, was reportedly making its way to the Ukraine frontline out of Central Russia.

Konrad Muzyka, a Military defense analyst, explained that the 12th directorate works out of dozens of facilities for the storing of Russia’s nuclear weapons stockpile, as reported by The Telegraph.

“This is actually a kit belonging to the 12th Main Directorate of the Russian MoD,” explained the analyst. “The directorate is responsible for nuclear munitions, their storage, maintenance, transport, and issuance to units.”

Muzyka stated that the event could be a flag for the west that Putin is heavily “escalating” his attempts to win against Ukraine, a sign that he is feeling cornered about the events of the war.

The report stated that various sources indicated that NATO explained to its members in an intelligence report that Russia is slated to test Poseidon,a new powerful nuclear torpedo drone, in the near future. Early on in the events of its invasion of Ukraine, Russia utilized hypersonic missiles against Ukrainian forces, making itself the first time in history had utilized the new weaponry in an active combat scenario.

The spotting of this nuclear train takes place in the wake of Putin warning about possible use of nuclear weaponry this past week, stating: “If the territorial integrity of our country is threatened, we will without doubt use all available means to protect Russia and our people — this is not a bluff.”

One former president who now serves as deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, chased after Putin’s warning by claiming that Russia had a right to make use of its nuclear weaponry: “Let’s imagine that Russia is forced to use the most fearsome weapon against the Ukrainian regime which had committed a large-scale act of aggression that is dangerous for the very existence of our state.”
