Zelensky Releases Warning Statement About China Allying With Russia

Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, issued a warning this past Monday that World War III will be an inevitable event if China teams up with Russia.

Zelensky’s statements came the same day that President Joe Biden was found to have made a surprise secret visit to Kyiv and just two days after officials with U.S. intelligence revealed that they believe China is considering more lethal levels of aid to Russian president Vladimir Putin’s forces.

“For us, it is important that China does not support the Russian Federation in this war,” stated the Ukrainian president to the German daily Die Welt. as reported by Reuters. “In fact, I would like it to be on our side. At the moment, however, I don’t think it’s possible.”

“But I do see an opportunity for China to make a pragmatic assessment of what is happening here,” stated Zelensky. “Because if China allies itself with Russia, there will be a world war, and I do think that China is aware of that.”

This past Saturday, Secretary of State Antony Blinken issued his own warning about China by stating that there would be consequences if the communist country sent lethal aid to support Russia for this ongoing war as it gets closer to its one-year anniversary. Blinken has reportedly been worried about China taking steps to cozy up to Putin and taking on a larger role in the war.

“We’ve been watching this very, very closely. And, for the most part, China has been engaged in providing rhetorical, political, diplomatic support to Russia, but we have information that gives us concern that they are considering providing lethal support to Russia in the war against Ukraine,” stated Blinken as part of a Sunday interview in the wake of meeting with a senior foreign policy official from China.

Since the invasion from Russia into Ukraine first kicked off back on February 24, 2022, The U.S. has promised to send close to $200 billion in assistance efforts to Ukraine, which included weapons, ammunition, long-range missiles, and tanks. All the while, a number of Chinese companies have been seen aiding the Russian military with navigation equipment, jamming technology, and fighter jet parts, as reported by the Wall Street Journal.

Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley issued an estimate this past November which stated that over 100,000 soldiers have been marked as casualties on each side and close to 40,000 civilians have been killed.
