In a shocking revelation, former Trump aide and key January 6 witness Cassidy Hutchinson has accused Rudy Giuliani of groping her backstage at Donald Trump’s speech near the White House on the day of the Capitol attack. In her upcoming book, Enough, Hutchinson describes the incident as being “like a wolf closing in on its prey.”
According to Hutchinson, she was looking for then-chief of staff Mark Meadows when she came across Giuliani, who was accompanied by Trump adviser John Eastman. Hutchinson writes that Giuliani put his hand “under my blazer, then my skirt,” and she could feel his “frozen fingers trail up my thigh.” She adds that Giuliani had a “jaundiced” look in his eyes and Eastman flashed a “leering grin.”
Hutchinson’s book, set to be published next week, details her journey from being a Trump supporter to becoming disillusioned with the former president. It also sheds light on her role as a key witness for the House January 6 committee. The Guardian obtained a copy of the book and reported on the allegations against Giuliani.
The former New York City mayor has been embroiled in legal troubles since Trump left office. He is facing 13 criminal racketeering and conspiracy charges in Georgia over his attempts to subvert the 2020 election. He also recently lost a defamation lawsuit brought by two Georgia election workers. In addition, Giuliani is facing financial strain, with his luxury New York apartment up for sale and multiple lawsuits seeking unpaid fees, including a $10 million suit from his former personal assistant.
In response to the allegations made in Hutchinson’s book, Giuliani’s spokesperson and political advisor Ted Goodman said, “This is a disgusting lie against Mayor Rudy Giuliani – a man whose distinguished career in public service includes taking down the mafia, cleaning up New York City and comforting the nation following September 11.”
The revelations from Hutchinson’s book have sparked outrage and renewed scrutiny of Giuliani’s actions both during and after his time as Trump’s personal lawyer. Many are questioning how someone with such a storied career in law enforcement and public service could now be facing multiple criminal and civil charges.
In her book, Hutchinson also details her experience on January 6, calling it a “creeping sense of dread that something really horrible [was] going to happen.” She describes feeling “anger, bewilderment, and a creeping sense of dread” as she witnessed the events unfold. With her firsthand account and evidence gathered from her time in the White House, Hutchinson’s testimony will be crucial in the ongoing investigation into the events of January 6 and the actions of those involved.
The allegations against Giuliani in Hutchinson’s book have yet to be substantiated, but they add another layer to the already controversial figure’s ongoing legal battles. As the investigation into January 6 continues, more details are expected to emerge and the full extent of Giuliani’s involvement may be revealed.
